Thank the gods for Jack White.
He is my Rock Hero. Everything he does just gets better and better. The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and now The Dead Weather. A stunning rap sheet to say the least. I have been listening to Horehound, the debut Dead Weather album, both released and given to me on my birthday, for the past week or so and I can't shut it off. Now I have a reason to get Sunday passes to the Austin City Limits fest, as well as Friday for The Walkmen.

The Dead Weather consists of Alison Mosshart (of The Kills and Discount), Jack White (of The White Stripes and The Raconteurs), Dean Fertita (of Queens of the Stone Age) and Jack Lawrence (of The Raconteurs and The Greenhornes). Simply amazing line up and the music speaks for itself. I don't listen to rock, in general, as much as other genres but when Jack White is invloved, it's almost guaranteed to be classic and that's what I dig.

Post a CommentI don't love The White Stripes, but for some reason I love The Raconteurs. I'll definitely give this a whirl. If nothing else, I'll clue my sister in. Listening to the samples, it sounds like something she'll totally dig.
I respect the heck out of Jack White. I do find, I have to be "in the mood" for some of his stuff, but I think he's awesome.
He did an impromtu concert near London a few years back at a flour mill in Arva. I regret not being able to make it there that day.
The mill gave him an assortment of flour for his brother, who is apparently a baker.

That's a cool little tidbit!
Same here regarding this being mood music. In general, I don't listen to rock too much at all - I've got more disco and hip hop in my ipod than anything else, but I do love me some Jack White. Kid's got crazy talent.
Agreed, crazy talent.
They do a bit in "Coffee and Cigerettes" too. I was like Thats Jack and Meg! Too cool.

Some people from the office saw them play in Detroit last Friday and had a blast. I would have been there, but I had to go to NY for the weekend. I was really bummed I missed it, I'm loving their new album.
I love Jack White in all of his musical projects, plus I freaking LOVE Queens of the Stone Age, I'll have to check this out!
