Portishead talk about Third
For a very long time, I worried that we would never again get to hear anything new from one of my favorite bands, Portishead. Then, a couple of years ago there was some subtle activity on the band's myspace page. News of underground secret shows and leaked music started to pop up here and there. Then, finally to my great relief Third was released.
Geoff Barrow and Adrian Utley discuss the long and winding path that led to the creation of Portishead’s third studio album. If the first video below doesn't work for you, you can go here to see it: http://www.thedailyswarm.com/watch/portisheads-geoff-barrow-and-adrian-u...
I imagine this sound is not for everyone, but I love it. It certainly has its place in my life.

Post a CommentI never heard of Portishead, they are unique, but I like it. Its very brooding and intense at times.
I couldn't get the first one to play, I like Glory Box best from what I have heard.

OBAMA: You Betcha, My Friends!
Love Portishead and can't wait to hear Third in full.
i love portishead, thank you so much for sharing.
have you ever heard the live version of "sour times" in roseland?? it's amazing to hear beth gibbons scream.
Oh yes, Ginger Snaps - I have devoured every bit of media I could of Portishead. I have the Roseland show on DVD
The woman is amazing. I have never had the chance to see them live myself, but Shawn has and he tells me it was one of the most important live
shows he has ever seen. Now that they are doing their thing again, I am hoping I will get a chance to see them again soon.
Dummy is one of my top 10 albums of all time. Ooh the memories it brings back! I'm glad they are still around.
I
Portishead. Thanks for this!
