A vigil was held this evening outside the Brackenridge hospital and a member of staff did address the crowd with an update: That he is "conscious and in fair condition", according to University Medical Center Brackenridge spokeswoman Adrienne Leyva. I had heard earlier today that he had suffered a stroke and was in a vegetative state and if he did live he would have to be admitted to some sort of living facility. So sad! The man has been such a character and fixture on 6th Street. I don't remember too many times I've gone downtown and not seen the man strutting about. Smiling
