Diablo Cody takes on Sweet Valley High
Diablo Cody's heading back to high school, signing on to write and produce an adaptation of the "Sweet Valley High" book series for Universal. Mason Novick, Adam Siegel and Marc Platt are also producing.
I think there is no better person to flip this series to film, but I imagine there will be plenty opf people who wish their beloved Wakefield twins be left alone. What are your thoughts?

Post a CommentWell.. I absolutely adored the books back in the day. I never got my hands on books that end the whole Elizabeth loses her memory, someone was murdered, & the twins are no longer friends saga and if I could find out which #s they are now, I would totally buy them.
I was SO disappointed with the television series though.. it was horrible. The girls they picked to play the twins p*ssed me off to no end, as did most of the others..
If it's anything like the series.. BLEH. If they do a better job with casting.. Go for it. I'll watch it once it hits dvd either way

I never watched the tvshow - Like you I didn't like the look of the girls so I knew I would not buy it. But I am excited about Diablo Cody doing a film. I think it could work.
I got rid of all of my books as well.. SO dumb! I looked into buying some of them last year but I had no idea where to start.. I'm not sure if #100 is is, does that end the whole Wakefield Legacy? Hmm and then there was that fake Elizabeth running around.. was that in the same storyline?
I foresee some Wakefield purchases in the near future. Oy.

I agree that the TV series was horrible.
I know nothing about these books so I am actually looking forward to see what Diablo Cody will do. I like her caustic sense of humor.
I hate Diablo Cody.
Diablo Cody is to the 00's what Kevin Williamson was to the 90's. I find her writing cute and clever at first but then it just grates on my nerves. I hope she doesn't butcher SVH too much.
